The hip pouch is in the Office Safe Room, on top of a cabinet. Hip Pouch 5Īnother hip pouch for Jill to find is in the Underground Storage, the area below the Hospital. Use the following code to open the safe and claim the hip pouch: left 9, right 15, left 7. Inside this first floor (1F) room will be a safe – one of the many safes and lockers to open in Resident Evil 3. Make your way to the West Office in the Police Station. This will be the first hip pouch you collect when playing as Carlos. This is the room you’ll see the first time you enter the sewers and the hip pouch will become marked on your map. This next hip pouch is in the Sewers on the Upper Waterway, in the Security Room. You must insert three jewels in order to get this hip pouch. ![]() Collect the jewels and place them into the monument in the subway station to unlock the hip pouch, as well as a tactical stock shotgun weapon upgrade. To get this hip pouch, you will need to find the jewels for the clock tower monument. This hip pouch is on a stepladder by the window. The first pouch is in the Subway Power Substation safe room. Be sure to track them all down, as, without them, you’ll be making boss fights more difficult than they ought to be. These each increase the inventory size by two points. But first, let’s cover the Hip Pouches you can find. There are two more, but you must unlock them by earning points and purchasing them in the in-game store. Over the course of the Resident Evil 3 remake, you’ll come across five hip pouches in the game world. ![]() If you want to have more inventory space to carry more weapons and ammo, you’re going to want to unlock each of these pouches. Some of these are scattered throughout the campaign, while a couple can only be purchased from the special store. There are several Hip Pouches to find in Resident Evil 3. There are several other Hip Pouches in the Remake, but for now, these two locations should set you on your way.Find all Hip Pouches in Resident Evil 3 to increase your inventory size to carry more items. Once inside the jail cell area, the Hip Pouch is easily visible on the table, opposite side from where the C4 explosive is. The stairwell beside the Dark-Room leads all the way up to the third floor (3F). This route becomes available roughly 45 mins into the game, once you reach the Dark-Room area (1F). To make it up to the third floor (3F) you need to have access to the stairwell that leads to the showers (2F). This part of the map might seem inaccessible to new players so it's important to recap slightly on how to gain access to this area. It's located above the Library in the RPD (3F), near the C4 explosive that's strapped to the jail cell. Simply turn the dial: Safe Combination: 9 Left, 15 Right, 7 Left Hip Pouch Location #2 The second Hip Pouch is also fairly near the start of the game. There are paper clues around the map which hint at the exact combination for this safe - but let's not waste any time with that because the code for this safe is always the same every game. The safe is inside the West Office of the police department, tucked in the corner of the smaller side room. Hip Pouch Location #1 The first Hip Pouch is very easy to acquire and it's hidden near the start of the game, inside a locked safe with an old fashioned dial lock on the front. This should save you many wasted trips to the item box as you progress through the more complex stages of the game. By collecting both of these pouches you'll effectively increase your inventory so an entire new row of slots (x 4) are available for item storage. At the beginning of the game there are two easy pouches which I'll cover the locations for below. These collectible items immediately increase your inventory space with two EXTRA slots. How to increase inventory space So how do you actually increase your inventory slots? Well, you're going to need Hip Pouches, which look like small bags. If you're going for a fast run through then item boxes MUST be avoided or strategically used. This means you must visit the box and return to the new item you want to pick up again. The problem with item boxes is that they're always located in fixed positions, with only a couple per area. Without additional inventory slots, these boxes are your only choice unless you want to discard items permanently. These large trunks are purposely designed to allow players to move inventory items between their character inventory and the boxes storage space. ![]() ![]() By now you've probably discovered the item boxes scattered throughout the map. In this guide I'll explain how to upgrade your inventory space to gain more slots and ultimately reduce unnecessary trips to the item box. The Resident Evil 2 Remake loves to tease your lack of inventory space, especially when you really want to carry more weapons or ammo but must prioritise key items first.
